Inka @ The De Young Museum Bouquets to Art Festival

The de Young Museum yearly hosts an event called Bouquets to Art of floral displays interpreting the Museum’s permanent collection.

This year Bouquets to Art celebrates the upcoming Impressionism exhibition at the de Young, on loan from Paris’ celebrated Musée d’Orsay. The annual flower festival and fundraiser adopts “French Impressions” as its theme as a tribute to Impressionism and features 150 unique floral displays created by local artist. The exhibit: Birth of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay, will be on view at the de Young from May 22 to September 6, 2010.

Inka Biospheric Systems contributed a set of living wall gardens with leafy greens and herbs. The display will be up until April 24th and Inka’s display is prominently located in the main hall of the museum – right as you walk in.

I borrowed a film camera for the Gala opening reception last night – unfortunaely my pictures did not come out, but I was able to get one beautiul impressonistic representation of Inka’s display.
